About Journey

Journey Payroll & HR was built to put people first — creating better relationships for clients and real opportunities for the people who help Journey grow.

Our Why

Kevin Welch started Journey Payroll & HR in 2010 after years of watching the payroll industry put software and shareholders ahead of people. After building a successful sales career at one of the largest national payroll companies, he became frustrated by the lack of service clients received and the limited long-term upside available to the people who brought those clients in.

He set out to build Journey differently: a human-first company where clients get a real relationship, not a ticket number, and where the people who sell Journey's services have the opportunity to build something of their own.

That belief is why Journey offers different paths for different people — from full business ownership to independent sales and referral opportunities.

CEO & Founder

Kevin founded Journey Payroll & HR in 2010 out of frustration with an industry that had stopped putting people first. Our Future

As AI and software continue to change the routine parts of payroll, Journey is doubling down on what cannot be automated: human judgment, relationships, and helping people become the best they can be.

The next chapter is about giving more entrepreneurial-minded sales professionals a real opportunity to control their future and build something with long-term value.
